CRA Get-Together

CRA had its eight get together on 16^th November 2011 at Ocarina Restaurant, Queen Hotel. The evening gathering was attended by 22  CRA members and 4 non-members.

We would like to extend our profound thanks to our member, Ocarina Restaurant, Queen Hotel for sponsoring the gathering. During this meeting we briefed on the results our on the outcome of CRA Competitions 2011.

Workshop on Clean Restaurant, Canteen and Good Service

On 03^rd November 2011, the Ministry of Tourism organized a workshop on Clean Restaurant, Clean Canteen and Good Service at Cambodiana Hotel. CRA members were invited to attend the workshop. CRA also did a presentation on Cleanliness of Restaurants. The attending Private Sector from Restaurants were assigned to do group discussion under the topic of Cleanliness of Restaurants and Canteens and presenting its findings to the attendees and also HE Minister of Tourism.

Interview with the Southeast Asia Weekly

On 16^th November 2011, Madam President was interviewed by the Southeast Asia Weekly. The interview was about the MOT workshop. His newspaper was interested in writing an article about Food & Beverage Industry especially Restaurant Industry in Cambodia. This would be another advantage for CRA to further be in the news.

National Seminar on Tourism Development Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and National Ecotourism Policy

Madam President was invited to attend the National Seminar on Tourism Development Strategic Plan and National Ecotourism Policy at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra on 16^th November 2011. The objective of the seminar is to share ideas and exchange new inputs to thoroughly and effectively strengthen the Tourism Development Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and the National Ecotourism Policy which is instrumental to developing Cambodia tourism in a sustainable and responsible manner. It is the first time that the Ministry of Tourism has prepared the Tourism Development Strategic Plan in compliance with the World Tourism Outlook 2010-2020 and in line with the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2010-2015.

Sea Festival and New Year Countdown 

On 22^nd November 2011, CRA was invited to attend the meeting with the Ministry of Tourism about being prepared to organize the Sea Festival and New Year Countdown in Preah Sihanouk Province. The Ministry will organize three main activities: 1) Live-Concert, Musical Entertainment and Firework 2) Beach & Water Sport Activities 3) Food Festival and Coastal Zone Tourism Development Project Exhibition. Madam President is a member of its organizing committee. On 28^th November 2011, sub-committee of food, wine and beverage met to talk about tasks divisions, target establishments, booth price, categories of exhibiting establishments and related matters. 

16^th Government-Private Sector Forum

CRA was represented by Mr. Arnaud Darc and Mr. Ahmad Anuar to witness this official meeting which is chaired by H.E the Prime Minister on 23^rd November 2011 at the Peace Palace. The forum was focused in the Government Policy of developing the Paddy and Milled Rice Strategic Policies. This is taken serious as it is a growth towards economic development  and a strategy to reduce poverty in the country.

Collaboration with ASIA LIFE MAGAZINE

We thank AsiaLIFE for the free two columns. This program started from April 2011. The December issue features RKeeper and Van’s Restaurant.

Collaboration with SEATV

We also express our Thanks to SEATV that did two show programs for CRA members starting from August 2011. In November, it showed Van’s Restaurant and Fine Star Ltd.

- Crust broiled duck egg with morel

- Green asparagus and parmesan foam Roasted lamb chops with five herbs and potato gratin

- Soufflé (Grand Marnier)

CEO FORUM

Mr. Ian Bragg was invited to talk about his company, Fine Star Ltd on the program “CEO forum.” Many questions were raised to know more including education & working experience, company background, why doing business in Cambodia, current business situation, success key factor, achievements and so forth.
